Estimate your yearly general liability cost

Rough yearly premium, general liability only
This is not a quote. For an actual price, talk to a licensed insurance broker or insurer. Bring your truck and equipment list, the sites you service, your revenue, your claims history and the limits your contracts require.
How the range works
The low end of every range starts at Zensurance’s published starting price for that type of operation: $1,800, $2,500 or $3,800 a year for $1 million in general liability. The estimator never shows less than that.
Everything above the starting price is a PlowCost estimate. We widen the range for Ontario, salting, extra trucks, staff, higher revenue, $2M or $5M limits and recent claims. The adjustments are our judgment, not insurer rates, because insurers don’t publish rate tables for this class. Every assumption is listed on the methodology page.
What isn’t included
- Commercial auto for your trucks.
- Tools and equipment, equipment breakdown, pollution liability, errors and omissions, and umbrella coverage.
- Taxes, fees and deductibles.
- Workers’ compensation for employees, which is handled by your provincial board.
Using the result
Use it to sanity-check a number, plan your season’s pricing, or decide whether a contract’s limit requirement is worth it. Then talk to a licensed broker or insurer for an actual price. The Ontario guide lists the documents a broker typically asks for.
